Some fancy restaurants have the record for the most expensive sandwiches. If you’re wondering if it’s worth that much because it’s made of gold, the answer is “sometimes”. In addition, there are some high-quality ingredients, such as wine bread and other fancy ingredients, that we will not reveal now.

So, let’s look at some of the most expensive sandwiches out there, including some of the most expensive burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and hot dogs, because your regular grilled cheese sandwich can be made with top-notch ingredients, and you may need to start saving up to try it.

Most Expensive Juicy Burgers

If burgers are your favourite food, you’re in for a treat. So, say goodbye to the standard juicy burger topped with leafy greens and condiments that can satisfy your hunger, and say hello to the luxurious beef imported burgers that will set you back a fortune to try but will be worth every penny you pay.

Let’s find out more about the four most expensive burger sandwiches available and why they’re so expensive to try.

The Douche Burger – $666

This burger sandwich is not around anymore, but it had to be included for the record. We’re talking about the Douche Burger, a one-of-a-kind luxurious New York burger available only from the 666 Burger food truck.

The so-called yummy burger blessed our world in 2012, and it included high-quality ingredients such as Kobe Wagyu beef, caviar, gold leaf, foie gras, and premium-quality caviar. Sounds pricey but delicious.

At the time, the Douche Burger cost $666. In addition to the luxurious ingredients, it included seafood like lobster. So, why did the era of The Douche Burger come to an end? Unfortunately, the food truck did not have enough employees to keep it running. The burger only lasted a year.

777 Burger – $777

The name is derived from the price of the 777 burger, which appears to be following in the footsteps of the Douche Burger. It’s available at Las Vegas Burger Brasserie. Made from American Wagyu beef, it’s a surf-and-turf dish that includes lobster meat. What are your thoughts on combining beef and seafood in a sandwich?

What’s the big deal about this sandwich? The savoury goat cheese and a dash of sharp balsamic vinegar dressing aged for a century pair perfectly with the juicy beef patty and rich lobster, creating the most expensive yet delicious sandwich you’ve ever had!

Let’s talk about the sandwich’s price; the sandwich is made of Wagyu beef, one of the world’s most expensive steak cuts, which partially explains the price. However, the real touch of brilliance that contributes to the burger’s high price is the 100-year-old vinegar dressing, which helps to accentuate the natural bitterness of the burger.

Keep in mind that this balsamic vinegar is limited in supply, so each drop will almost certainly add to the meal’s final $700+ price. This makes sense given the limited availability of this burger’s ingredients and its high price of $777; it’s a rare treat that only a few lucky people can enjoy.

Le Burger Extravagant – $295

It is a mouthwatering gourmet burger made from imported Japanese Wagyu beef. This fancy creation is known as the Le Burger Extravagant. Where can you get this gourmet burger? Serendipity 3, which is one of New York’s most popular fine dining establishments.

What’s the big deal about this sandwich? Not only is the beef imported, but the sandwich is topped with a fried quail egg and aged cheddar, making it one of the most savoury high-priced burgers ever created.

You’re mistaken if you think that’s all there is to it. Diners can take home the stone toothpick that is graciously pressed into the centre of the burger as a souvenir. Yes, you get to eat a luxurious sandwich and take home a diamond souvenir; what else do you need? A memorable experience is worthy of a ten out of ten.

Glamburger – $1,770

Another pricey burger that is no longer available but had to be included because some creations are impossible to forget. The Glamburger was named the most expensive burger worldwide, with a price tag of £1,100/$1,770.

The luxurious burger was made of gold leaf buns and imported ingredients such as Kobe Wagyu beef and featured Beluga caviar, one of the most expensive types of caviar. Shaved white truffles and lobster poached in saffron round out the glamorous ingredients. The sauce is a complex jus sauce made with champagne.

A luxurious experience that will leave you satisfied with all of the imported ingredients you had in one sandwich. We would definitely try it if we had a time machine!

Most Expensive String-Pulling Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Who would have guessed that a simple grilled cheese sandwich could be extraordinary and named one of the most expensive sandwiches? We’re talking about the most expensive cheese sandwich on the market, making you reconsider your everyday cheese sandwich.

Quintessential Grilled Cheese Sandwich – $214

Have you ever heard of a grilled cheese that holds a world record? We’re talking about the Quintessential Grilled Cheese Sandwich, a Guinness World Record holder. This is not your typical grilled cheese; it is made with high-quality ingredients.

So, what’s the big deal about the grilled cheese sandwich? It’s not your typical grilled cheese sandwich, but it is one of the most expensive sandwiches. Let’s start with the bread, which is made with expensive ingredients like Dom Perignon Champagne and white truffle butter, and the cheese is Caciocavallo Podolico. We’re not done yet: the sandwich includes 24K gold leaf, which means it’s made of pure gold.

Most Expensive Footlong Hotdog Sandwiches

Not only do hot dogs taste delicious, but they are also inexpensive. However, the hot dogs on the list are known to be the most expensive in the world, with some even holding world records.

Juuni Ban – $169

One of the most expensive hot dogs in the world can be found at the Tokyo Dog food truck in Seattle, Washington, USA.

The expensive sandwich is called Juuni Ban, and it is not your typical mustard and relish sandwich; instead, it has additional toppings, making it an expensive dog.

So, what features differentiate this expensive sandwich from others? It is served in a brioche bun with smoked cheese bratwurst, butter Teriyaki grilled onions, Maitake mushrooms, Wagyu beef, foie gras, shaved black truffles, caviar, and Japanese mayonnaise. It is time to give it a shot.

Serendipity Foot Long Haute Dog – $69

This tasty expensive foot long hot dog sandwich can be shared by two people. It’s about a foot long, or 30 cm.

So, what’s all the fuss about? It’s made with an all-beef hot dog that’s been grilled in white truffle oil and served inside a German pretzel bun toasted with white truffle butter, not to mention the toppings, which are medallions of duck foie gras with black truffles.

It’s accompanied by three sauces: caramelised Vidalia onions, black truffle-Dijon mustard, and heirloom tomato catsup. Did it make your mouth water? Because ours did!
