AJS E95 Porcupine

Vincent Black Lightning

The luxury motorbike Vincent Black Lightning was sold for this amount at Bonham’s auction house in January 2018. The Vincent Black Lightning is a British-made bike produced between 1948 and 1952, and it is known that a total of 32 samples of this model were assembled, and only 19 have survived.

One of these bikes was exported to Australia. It set the speed record of the country, which was 240 km/h, and won many competitions. The weight of the motorbike is 170 kg. It is equipped with a 70 hp engine and a volume of 998 cm3.

It was created in 2006 by the Broward Motorsports team based on the Japanese Yamaha Road Star. The work took six months. Broward Motorsports and BMS Choppers owner Sam Nehme and some of his key staff worked on the development. Sam Nehme and his colleagues designed many of the components from scratch.

Hildebrand & Wolfmüller 1895

This motorbike is history itself in the flesh and was the world’s first two-wheeler with an engine. The 1895 luxury motorbike belongs to the first serial model of Hildebrand & Wolfmüller. Between 1894 and 1897, 800 units were produced. The model, sold at auction for $3.5 million, had a two-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1,488 CC. The engine had an output of only 2.5 hp, 2.5 hp, allowing it to reach a speed of 48 km/h.

Remarkably, German designers, Henry and Wilhelm Hildebrand, had been developing steam engines before they started making bikes. Their partner Alois Wolfmüller was one of the pioneers of aircraft construction.

Ecosse Spirit

If you’re not a fan of history and museum pieces but rather a fan of future technologies, then the luxury Ecosse Spirit superbike will definitely appeal to you. The Ecosse Spirit was created in 2009 by ECOSSE Moto Works specialists.

Designers of Formula 1 race cars took part in its development. The sport bike weighs just 120 kg with a 200 hp engine and can reach 370 km/h, partly due to its low weight and good aerodynamics. Ten prototypes of Ecosse ES1 Spirit were produced and sold.

E90 AJS Porcupine

E90 AJS Porcupine is a luxury motorbike with a story! Created by Associated Motorcycles (AMC), it debuted in 1945. The difference with other models of that time was the horizontal position of the cylinders and engine heads, provided for the motorbike’s low centre of gravity. The power of the engine was rated at 55 hp at 7600 rpm.

Four copies of this model were made in 1947. Leslie Graham used one of these to win the 1949 World Road Racing Championship in the 500cc class and the 1949 Manufacturers’ Championship. In addition, the E90 AJS Porcupine also won the 1949 Ulster Grand Prix, the 1949 Belgian Grand Prix, and the 1949 and 1950 Swiss Grand Prix.
